Learning Spaces and Features

Lecture Halls

  • Stacked 400-seat and 250-seat lecture halls
  • Two rows of tables and seats per tier enable students to turn around and form small groups for collaborative learning activities
  • Three projectors for dual or single screen projection; content can be displayed wirelessly from laptop or mobile device

Small Classrooms

  • Four 30-seat classrooms
  • Includes mobile node-style chairs to accommodate various configurations
  • Single projector in each room; content can be displayed wirelessly from laptop or mobile device
  • Multiple whiteboards provided throughout the room

Large Classrooms

  • One 102-seat, one 84-seat, and four 60-seat rooms
  • The two larger rooms and three of the 60-seat rooms feature large shared displays for each group of 6 students
  • Two projectors per room; content can be displayed wirelessly from laptop or mobile device
  • Multiple whiteboards provided throughout the room

Computer Classrooms

  • Two 50-seat and and one 20-seat computer classrooms
  • 50-seat rooms can be combined into a 100-seat space by raising ceiling-mounted partition
  • Single projector in each room; content can be displayed wirelessly from laptop or mobile device

Study/Break-Out Rooms

  • Four rooms, each with seating for 6-10 students
  • Large shared display; content can be displayed wirelessly from laptop or mobile device
  • Computer and web conferencing equipment provided

LARC Tutorial Rooms

  • Five 16-seat rooms and one 32-seat room
  • Equipped with wall-mounted displays capable of wireless presentation

Lobby, Lounge, and Study Space

  • Corridors feature mix of group tables and chairs, benches, and standing-only touchdown space
  • Open spaces on park-side include balance between lounge seating, tables and chairs, and individual work spaces; power provided throughout
  • Outdoor space will feature additional seating and gathering areas
 

Staff and Program Space

Office of Information Technology

  • The ALP will be the new home of OIT’s Classroom Technology Support and Instructional Lab Support groups
  • Spaces include staff offices, a reception area, demonstration room, and work room

Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning

  • The Learning and Academic Resource Center will relocate to the ALP just prior to opening
  • In addition to the tutorial rooms, spaces include staff offices, a reception area, and tutor work room
