SASI'S FOUNDING STORY
SASI was founded by a group of students who saw the need for UCI to focus more on social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. They proposed the idea of a compensated student group and were connected to Michael Dennin, who now employs SASI. SASI is the first paid social justice student-led research group at UCI.
Anika Tasnim
Cofounder, 2022 Project Coordinator
Anika was a Fall 2022 UCI graduate and one of the students who founded SASI. Anika led SASI in the 2021-2022 academic school year.
Keenan Do
Cofounder
Keenan was a 2021 UCI graduate and one of the students who founded SASI. Despite graduating, Keenan was an active contributor during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
Alyssa Romea
2022-2023 SASI Program Lead
Alyssa is a Class of (Winter) 2023 Environmental Science and Policy and Political Science double major. For the 2022-2023 academic school year, Alyssa is the Lead Coordinator.
Jade Nettrour
2022-2023 Project Coordinator
Jade is an International Studies major in the Class of 2023. Jade will be the Coordinator for Public Programming for this year.
Elizabeth Lee

Elizabeth is a Class of 2023 Political Science major. This year, Elizabeth is collaborating with Alyssa to work on the White Papers.
Giselle Garcia

Giselle is a Class of 2024 Biology and Education double major. This year, she is working on the Faculty Toolkit with Alyssa.

Faith is a Class of 2024 Sociology and Social Policy and Public Service double major. This year, she is leading the SASI Approved Course List and providing additional support for other projects.
